A collaborative student is a student who is getting their degree from Mayville State, but taking some courses at another NDUS institution within the same term. Mayville State, which is where you are receiving your degree from, is your "Home" institution. The institution where you are taking a course, but not receiving your degree from is your "Host" institution.
To use this page to register, your Home institution must be Mayville State University. Therefore, you must be a fully admitted student and be receiving your degree from Mayville State University. By registering as a collaborative student, you agree to the following:
- All credits from all institutions will be combined on your transcript and tuition bill at Mayville State.
- You will pay all tuition amounts to Mayville State, either through Financial Aid or on your own.
- Your credits from all institutions will automatically be transferred to Mayville State at the end of the semester.
- The credits taken as a collaborative student are essentially transfer credits from the Host institution and therefore do NOT count towards the requirement to have at least 30 credit hours from Mayville State to earn a degree.
- You must follow the drop and withdrawal procedures at Mayville State in regards to any collaborative courses.
- Remedial courses, such as MATH 099 and ASC 092, and graduate level courses cannot be registered for as collaborative courses.
- Continuing Education courses at UND are NOT eligible for the collaborative program.
Due to the turn around time for collaborative registrations, we strongly encourage you to submit your registration before the first day of classes. All collaborative registrations must be submitted within seven (7) business days of the start of the semester. Absolutely no registrations will be accepted after that date.
Here's How It Works:
- Complete the Online Collaborative Course Request Form.
- Once we have received your request, you will receive a confirmation email and the course will appear on this page as "Pending".
- We will then forward your request to the host campus and ask them to register you for the classes you selected.
- Once you have been registered for the course, your course will appear on this page as "Confirmed".
