About Mayville State

Study

Library

Byrnes-Quanbeck Library has many study spaces--a main study area, individual study spaces, and lounge reading areas. The Library is completely wireless, but you can also plug in your notebook if you prefer. When you need a break from studying, you can relax with your favorite magazine or best-seller.

The Fishbowl

The Fishbowl is one of the most popular study spaces on campus.  Why is it called the Fishbowl?  Because it has windows running along one side of the room and people tend to walk by in the hallway and peer inside. The Fishbowl is full of network connections and has its own printer.

Snack Bar

If students are hungry and want to study at the same time, the snack bar is the place to be.  It’s also a good place to meet classmates for study groups, because in the Snack Bar nobody cares how loud you get.  Network connections run along the walls by the snack bar tables.

Technology in the Classroom

In the summer of 2004, Mayville State became the first campus in the nation to issue TabletPC notebook computers to all students and faculty.  Professors and students utilize the capabilities of the TabletPCs in the classroom and beyond.
