Head Coach

Lindsey Kruse returned to Mayville State University last fall after being hired to take over the Comets volleyball program and is currently in her second season as head volleyball coach at MSU.

A 2002 graduate of Mayville State with a degree in elementary education, Kruse was a four-year starter for the Mayville State volleyball team. In 2001, Kruse served as a senior assistant coach at Mayville State and went on to coach two seasons at May-Port C.G. High School in Mayville, N.D. Kruse helped lead that team to a North Dakota Class B State Championship in 2001 and her team placed second in state during the 2002 season.

Prior to coming to Mayville State Kruse spent the past three season at Buena Vista University. During her first season with the program, she was named the Iowa Conference Co-Coach of the Year. Kruse guided Buena Vista to a 17-15 record and a third-place finish in the Iowa Conference. It was the best record for the Beavers since 1986. It was also the first time the squad had finished as high as third in the conference standings since 1986. The team also tied for third in her second year.

Prior to her years at Buena Vista, Kruse served as an interim assistant and graduate assistant coach at St. Cloud State University for two seasons. Kruse, coaching as an assistant under Patricia Mickow, helped lead St. Cloud State to the NCAA Division II Tournament in 2004 for the first time since 1995. The Huskies finished the year with a 19-13 record, their highest win total in nearly a decade.

Kruse graduated from Underwood High School in Underwood, Minn. She earned her master's degree in sports management at St. Cloud State University.
