Third Year of “After Hours” Socials Will Kick Off September 9
The next “After Hours” will be held Tuesday, September 9 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the home of Debbie Hagen, rural Mayville, N.D. Linda Baier, Mayville, will be assisting Debbie as a hostess. All women are invited to attend. All attendees will be asked to make a donation of $10.00 at the door.

Comet Athletic Club Sponsoring Sportsmen’s Raffle and Social Event
The Comet Athletic Club is sponsoring its second annual sportsmen’s raffle to raise scholarships for the student athletes of Mayville State University. Raffle ticket holders will have a one-in-ten chance of winning a hunting gun at an event being planned for Saturday evening, September 6, 2008. Ticket holders need not be present to win.

Last Year’s Planning Efforts Coming to Fruition
Another academic year is here! This is a particularly important year at Mayville State University because we are beginning to see the fruits of last year’s planning efforts. Last year we embarked on strategic planning initiatives to create significant improvements to the overall appearance of our campus, safety and functionality of the buildings, and to renew emphasis on long-term planning. We also laid plans to enhance the educational experience for our students and bring new dollars to campus.

Seminar on Success, a New Opportunity Provided Through Title III Grant Funding
Beginning this fall, incoming freshmen will have the opportunity to enroll in a course developed especially for them. The course, Seminar on Success (SOS), is a one-credit class designed to help students become acclimated to the university and community, and to teach skills that will help students achieve their goals while attending Mayville State, and beyond.
